What: CatchBio Celebrates! Open symposium
When: 16 November 2016
Where: SugarCity, Halfweg, the Netherlands (http://www.sugarcity.com/en)
On 16 November 2016 the festive, open and international CatchBio symposium will be held in former sugar factory SugarCity, Halfweg, the Netherlands. CatchBio is a public-private partnership comprising 9 universities and 12 private partners (including Shell, DSM, BASF, Avantium).
10 years ago, CatchBio initiated an ambitious research program in the field of catalytic biomass conversion, focused on processing the various (non-food) components present in biomass into useful fuels, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. At this final symposium, top researchers from the Netherlands and abroad come together to celebrate 10 years of excellent research, and to discuss and reflect on the science and people who made CatchBio possible.
We are finalizing an exciting 1-day programme with lectures from (international) top researchers in the field of catalytic biomass conversion and beyond.
Speakers include amongst others:
Dr. Marcel Wubbolts
CTO Corbion, Chair BIC/BBI
Tom van Aken MSc.
Prof. Bert Weckhuysen
Prof. Walter Leitner
Prof. Bert Sels
University of Leuven
Prof. Erik Heeres
Prof. Johannes de Vries
Leibniz Institute for Catalysis
Prof. Emiel Hensen
Prof. André Faaij
The symposium will conclude with a dinner and party and is free of charge. There is a maximum number of participants that can be admitted, so make sure to register timely for this unmissable event. We look forward to see you there!
