newsexhibition 'from tree to car'

In the future everyone will drive a sustainable car. This car will not only run on new generation bio fuels, but will also consist of bioplastics and bio tires. The origin of this sustainable future is biological material derived from living (or recently living) organisms, classified as biomass.

The Utrecht University Museum presents the exhibition series 'Research in focus', highlighting current research at Utrecht University. This time the brief exhibition is devoted to next generation biofuels and bioplastics.

In close collaboration with the Inorganic Chemistry & Catalysis Group and the Copernicus Institute of the Faculty of Science, the museum shows how you can produce the necessary raw materials in a sustainable way, the resulting impact for society, environment and economy and how biomass subsequently can be converted into fuel and new biomaterials by innovative and efficient conversion processes.
