Prof. Ben Feringa has been awarded the first Van 't Hoff medal by the University of Amsterdam. He received the prize on 25 November 2011. Feringa has been awarded the medal for his excellent and pioneering research in the field of asymmetric synthesis and the design of new functional materials and nanosystems.The award will be granted every ten years for work in the field of chemistry. 2011 was the International Year of Chemistry and it's 100 years after the year famous chemist and Nobel laureate J.H. van 't Hoff died.
Feringa is CatchBio project leader and member of the Management Team.
