Catalysis of Organic Reactions, using heterogeneous, homogeneous or biocatalysts. Focal points of attention are zeolite catalysts, Layered Double Hydroxide Catalysts, Metal-Organic Frameworks as heterogeneous catalysts, nanoparticles of noble metals (Au, Pd, ..), Palladium, Osmium, Manganese, Tungsten and Molybdenum Catalysts.
Important reactions under scrutiny are oxidations: epoxidations, hydroxylations, alcohol oxidations, incorporation of carbon dioxide in organic molecules, dynamic kinetic resolutions of alcohols and amines, selective hydrogenations of polyfunctional molecules, new routes in aromatics functionalization via C-H activation
Physicochemical Characterization of Heterogeneous Catalysts, using i.a. Surface titration with mass spectrometric techniques, FT-IR, ESR spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy
Analysis of organic compounds, using GC, GCMS, LCMS
