
Dr. Jacco van Haveren (jacco.vanhaveren@wur.nl) is Programme Manager Sustainable Chemistry at the Research Institute Agrotechnology & Food Innovations B.V. (A&F), part of Wageningen University & Research Centre, The Netherlands. He is responsible for creating both fundamental and applied research programmes in the field of organic chemistry with a focus on exploring the possibilities for using renewable monomers in polymer applications.
In that respect he is involved in ACTS (ASPECT) programmes aiming at developing improved catalytic routes to bio based bulk chemicals as well as in projects running within the framework of the Dutch Polymer Institute.
He has been with A&F for thirteen years in several positions including R&D, managing and sales positions.
He obtained his Ph.D. at the Technical University of Delft in 1991, working on carbohydrate chemistry and worked as a post-doc at the University of Texas at Dallas during 1992.
